Monica Calderon is a Mexican designer and independent curator. Calderon’s background in design spans over 20 years. In 1997, when she married acclaimed Mexican Architect Ezequiel Farca, Calderon designed and produced a line of handmade resin homewares inspired by the Pre-Hispanic designs of ancient Mexico to accompany Farca’s architecture practice. In 2001, Calderon founded her eponymous design studio and production arm. Over the last 20 years, with her team of over 30 artisans, Monica Calderon Studio has been dedicated to ideation, design and production of accessories and furniture. Clients and collaborators include MoMA NYC, LACMA museum store, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Wynn Hotels and Chefs Jose Andres, Enrique Olvera, David Rockwell and Rick Joy. 

If I had choose my favorite thing, it would be this! Lily Juliet’s large caviar dish in ice blue. it’s perfect for serving guacamole, or just about any salad. The resin is translucent, combined with the ice blue color it’s an absolute masterpiece.

Annieglass is durable, dishwasher safe, and chip-resistant (although not recommended for oven or microwave use). Colors and textures will vary due to our handmade process. To ensure authenticity, every piece is hand-engraved with our studio signature and dated.

If your piece features one of Annieglass’ most iconic designs: a hand-painted band of precious metal, this metal rim is permanently fused within the glass during Annie’s perfected kiln firing process. This metal rim will not chip or wear off.
